Deck the Halls with Flowers

The big day is approaching and whether you already have your tree up and the house strewn with paper chains, or if the decorations are still languishing in boxes, now is the perfect time to give some thought to how you can add some special extra festive touches to your home with beautiful bouquets from Bloom Magic.

Here are some of our tips to incorporate flowers this Christmas:

Candy cane vase

Give a plain vase a festive twist by lining the outside of it with stripy candy canes. This is a quick and easy project that will add a little bit of sparkle to your Christmas décor. Attach candy canes to the outside of the vase (if you are using a glass vase you will likely be able to peel the candy cane easily using double sided tape). Tie a ribbon around the vase as a final touch.

Match your flowers to the colour of the candy canes you are using. If you have gone with traditional red and white colours, we think our Rudolph bouquet will set if off nicely.

Add Christmas decorations to your bouquet

Add some extra bling to your flower arrangements by including eye-catching extras like baubles and festive figures. Glue your items onto Midelino sticks (the kind we commonly use in flower arranging) or wooden skewers if you have them handy. Arrange them in your bouquet for a bit of extra sparkle. We especially love the idea of sweet snowmen popping out from between blooms.

If you have a real tree this year don’t forget that you can also add trimmings from it to your bouquets and arrangements for some extra greenery. Why not use our Le Pere Noel bouquet as inspiration or a shortcut to this gorgeous look?

Christmas tree centrepieces

If you find yourself hosting Christmas dinner this year, you will want your table to wow just as much as the food you’ll be serving up. Our Mini Christmas Trees are the perfect way to give any table a makeover with the minimum amount of fuss. They even fit through your letterbox, so you don’t need to worry about being in to receive it if you have some last minute shopping to do.

If you are going with a buffet set up this year add a chalkboard pick to the trees and use them to announce what each dish is.

Arrangements for the mantelpiece

It’s not just stockings that can dress up your mantlepiece this December. Create a gorgeous display for above the fireplace that will be the perfect backdrop for opening presents on Christmas day.

For a simple polished look, evenly space four of the same bouquets on your mantlepiece.  We recommend the Turtle Dove as a beautiful choice - the touches of gold look gorgeous in the firelight.

If you have a little more time on your hands use boughs of fir and holly to line your mantlepiece around small bouquets. Don’t feel you need to stick to traditionally Christmassy reds and whites when it comes to choosing your flowers. Style a contemporary festive look with pops of colour from the Camden or Hampstead bouquets.
